The Suffolk Supply Chain service is set to unify suppliers and contractors through a centralised platform, leveraging opportunities locally. This approach ensures businesses enhance their longevity and actively contribute to the circular economy in Suffolk. The platform was launched this week at a celebratory event hosted at Ivy House Country hotel in East Suffolk to an audience of Suffolk ambassadors and business leaders, and will not only provide valuable resources but also offer information and signposting to facilitate businesses' access to funding and training. Additionally, a series of events and webinars will foster collaboration, relationship-building, and readiness for bidding.
Cllr Richard Smith MVO, Suffolk County Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Skills, Transport Strategy and Waste, expressed his anticipation for the Suffolk Supply Chain service, stating, "This innovative partnership with Suffolk Chamber of Commerce aligns seamlessly with our commitment to driving economic growth and supporting local businesses. The Suffolk Supply Chain service will play a crucial role in connecting businesses, fostering collaboration, and capitalising on the wealth of opportunities within Suffolk. I look forward to witnessing the positive impact it will have on our local business community."
Heading the project is Emma Alderton, the newly appointed Suffolk Supply Chain Business Engagement Lead. Emma remarked, "I'm delighted to lead this exciting project, supporting businesses in maximising Suffolk's opportunities. With numerous projects in the pipeline, it's imperative for Suffolk businesses to spearhead the supply chain.
