Tendering with the Tier 1's Success

Tendering with the Tier 1's Success

The first 'Tendering with the Tier 1's Workshop' event took place on Tuesday, kicking off a new round of support from the team behind the Suffolk Supply Chain.

Delegates heard from representatives from local Tier 1 organisations Kier Group, based in Witham, and OCS UK&I, a facilities management group with their Head Office based in Ipswich. The teams gave attendees an insight into the standards that are required from their supply chain, how organisations can improve on their activities and, most importantly, where to find the contract opportunities that are available.

The session was followed by a practical group activity where attendees completed a faux-bid and then peer-reviewed one-another. This gave delegates an insight into the thought process of procurement teams at major organisations.

The event itself was held at the picturesque Royal Harwich Yacht Club which is located on Woolverstone Marina in Ipswich.

Future events like these, which are planned in for October and November so far, will invite guest speakers from US Air Force Contracting Squadron, Kier Group, and Morgan Sindall Group.

Suffolk Supply Chain, which was launched in March of 2024 by Suffolk Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Suffolk County Council, aims to position the local supply chain at the forefront of regional developments that are taking place. The aim of these workshops is to ensure that, no matter the size of business, the supply chain is fully equipped with the knowledge they need to tender successfully for contracts that are available to them.
