Suffolk Chamber of Commerce Launches Innovative Suffolk Supply Chain Service

Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce a successful bid proposal to secure funding through the Suffolk Growth Programme, leading to the establishment of an exciting partnership with Suffolk County Council. This collaboration marks the inception of the Suffolk Supply Chain service, a ground-breaking initiative designed to bolster businesses across the county.

John Dugmore, Chief Executive at Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, commented "I am thrilled about the launch of the Suffolk Supply Chain service, which marks a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering economic growth and collaboration within Suffolk. This innovative partnership with Suffolk County Council, exemplifies our dedication to providing tangible support to businesses across the county. The Suffolk Supply Chain platform will not only connect suppliers and contractors but also empower businesses to play a pivotal role in crucial infrastructure projects. This initiative aligns seamlessly with our mission at Suffolk Chamber of Commerce to create opportunities, drive sustainability, and strengthen our local business community. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact this service will have on businesses and the wider Suffolk economy."

The Suffolk Supply Chain service is set to unify suppliers and contractors through a centralised platform, leveraging opportunities locally. This approach ensures businesses enhance their longevity and actively contribute to the circular economy in Suffolk. The platform was launched this week at a celebratory event hosted at Ivy House Country hotel in East Suffolk to an audience of Suffolk ambassadors and business leaders, and will not only provide valuable resources but also offer information and signposting to facilitate businesses' access to funding and training. Additionally, a series of events and webinars will foster collaboration, relationship-building, and readiness for bidding.

Cllr Richard Smith MVO, Suffolk County Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Skills, Transport Strategy and Waste, expressed his anticipation for the Suffolk Supply Chain service, stating, "This innovative partnership with Suffolk Chamber of Commerce aligns seamlessly with our commitment to driving economic growth and supporting local businesses. The Suffolk Supply Chain service will play a crucial role in connecting businesses, fostering collaboration, and capitalising on the wealth of opportunities within Suffolk. I look forward to witnessing the positive impact it will have on our local business community."

Heading the project is Emma Alderton, the newly appointed Suffolk Supply Chain Business Engagement Lead. Emma remarked, "I'm delighted to lead this exciting project, supporting businesses in maximising Suffolk's opportunities. With numerous projects in the pipeline, it's imperative for Suffolk businesses to spearhead the supply chain. I look forward to showcasing our local businesses and assisting them in elevating their social value and environmental credentials to become the preferred choice for these projects."
